As I was trying to finish reading my homework... in class that is... I came across this interesting quote from the book Heart of Darknes By: Joseph Conrad.
"The dreams of men, the seed of commonwealths, the germs of empires." (pg.6)
I don't really know why it struck my curiosity so much. It was, after all, just the beginning of the book. However, I'm looking at it right now and now I'm saying to myself What the crap is this? What a dumb quote! But at the time I thought I could make a thought provoking comment for my english assignment with this quote.
After reading 33 pages of Heart of Darkness I now have to right a journal response for it in my notebook and say what "the most interesting part of [my] reading was today". Barf.
Anyway. WARNING: It's a pointless book and is seriously ADHD and skips from one topic to the next in one sentence. So you will be confused when or if you read it.
Love,
Broadway Chick
